TraCS Team Science seeks to assist UNC researchers in forming and developing multidisciplinary research teams focused on solving complex problems in clinical or translational medicine through the new ACTeR program.

Support is provided through a combination of graduated direct funding and logistical support assessed competitively and awarded in two phases:

Stage 1

Provides up to $5,000 and up to 0.25 FTE of project manager support for up to 12 months to support team building, mini-symposia, and idea development (from concept to preview of the project).

Phase 2

Provides up to $50,000 and up to 0.5 FTE of project lead support for up to 12 months to support preliminary data generation and grant application preparation.

Eligibility of IPs for ACTeR follows UNC guidelines for research funded by external partners. The contact PI, who will have primary responsibility for the administrative aspects of the ACTeR program award, must be affiliated with UNC-Chapel Hill. Researchers whose appointments allow them to serve as PIs on externally sponsored research projects are eligible to apply as PIs. Applicants from NC A&T, RTI, or NC State are eligible to serve as co-PIs.
